Boğaziçi University Byzantine Studies Research Center Inauguration

The Boğaziçi University Byzantine Studies Research Center was launched on November 24, 2015 with an inauguration ceremony held at the Rectorate Conference Hall of the University. The ceremony opened with the speeches of Prof. Gülay Barbarosoğlu, the rector of Boğaziçi University, and Prof. Nevra Necipoğlu, the director of the Center. Following these opening speeches were the presentation of Dimiter Angelov, Byzantine history professor at Harvard University, entitled "The Holy Land, My Mother Anatolia: Theodore Laskaris and the Mediterranean World in the 13th Century,’’ and of Maria Mavroudi, history professor at University of California, Berkeley, entitled ‘’Byzantine Philosophy and Science at the Court of Mehmed the Conqueror’’.
