Job Posting in Byzantine Art and Archaeology
The Department of History at Boğaziçi University invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor position to begin in Spring 2018. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department’s undergraduate and graduate courses on Byzantine art history and archaeology, and to display a research profile that is strongly focused on the art history and archaeology of Middle or Late Byzantine Anatolia.
Applicants must be Turkish citizens with excellent command of English and have a PhD in Art History and Archaeology by the time of appointment. In addition to teaching and mentoring students, the successful candidate is required to engage in intensive academic research and publication activity, take on administrative duties in the department, and collaborate with the Boğaziçi University Byzantine Studies Research Center.

- Statement of teaching philosophy (not to exceed 2 single-spaced pages)
- Syllabus for a two-semester undergraduate survey course on Byzantine art history and archaeology
- Syllabus for a one-semester graduate level seminar on a selected theme of Byzantine art history or archaeology
- Three letters of recommendation (Referees should send their letters directly to the department, in electronic format or as hard copies.)
- Writing sample (academic journal article or book chapter)
