Lecture: Dr. Erdoğan Aslan

The second lecture of "Islands of Byzantium" Lecture Series organized by Boğaziçi University Byzantine Studies Research Center was delivered by Dr. Erdoğan Aslan (Selçuk University) on Monday November 21, 2016. Dr. Erdoğan emphasized that although the region of Lykia has been studied elaborately since early 1900s, Kekoka Island remained academically untouched. He presented the results of the detailed surface survey that he has been conducting since 2011 and compared this data on the churches, workshops and settlements of the island with similar buildings of equivalent geographies.
